but she was a teenager, kind of a celebrity to us. she travelled with friends of her age all older and much more exciting than any of us. aunt agnes was smart in school, won a scholarship. taking the subway and bus up to posh hill. gave a scholarship to another girl who needed it. she decided to join the convent to become a sister of st. joseph like her older sister eleanor. when she told her mother the decision, her mother said wait until your father hears this. when she told grandpa, he said do what will make you happy, and she did. here they are, the two of them, aunt eleanor and aunt agnes in their old habits, mom's younger sisters. i was looking through the e-mails and here is a typical one from october. it was just after the first presidential debate when i went ballistic over obama's weak performance. quote, on saturday i attended a meeting of over 500 sisters. as usual, during break time, many sisters i didn't know told me how much they appreciated "hardball." all the talk then was about the president's debate and my shall we say dramatic reaction to that presidential perfo

against the united states. heather joins us live with more. >> reporter: good morning to you. these are the startling findings in a new report that has just been released. the 74-page report says 141 major hacking attempts have been traced back to a secret group that is linked back to the china's military. the organizations include energy arrow space companies and also itel communications firm, blueprints and other sensitive documents were stolen from those companies. they say the hacking goes back to 2006. now there is also reportedly a memo from a chinese telecommunications company that admits it provided links for the sole purpose of hacking. the wall street times says they were hacked but china had is s denying the report and denying the alleged fact that it's military has any involvement with the hacking. both democrats and republicans in washington are now demanding more action on this. they say that china's hackers pose a huge national security risk. they say they released the report because it's time to acknowledge the serious threat that is posed by china and to help

here is it gets around a pair of goals that were in don flikt. regular use of birth control is one that works. the other goal is to protect religions from doing something they believe is morally wrong. my own belief is that the solution the obama administration reached here is win/win. i say this to someone who believes in the clinton case, that abortion should be safe, legal and rare. getting birth control to women for free will keep it rare. to keep the catholic church out of that transaction keeps it closer to the goal. this is what good, smart, progressive, morally upright politics is all about. and that's "hardball" for now. thanks for being with us. protective foot covering. robyn curnow is covering the trial for us in pretoria, south africa. >> reporter: good morning, we've just seen oscar pistorius drive past us in a police van, sirens blaring, the police had covered the windows, you know, cameras literally rushing to try and get a picture of him. they didn't. but today, despite his really, really sad quite traumatized demeanor in the past few days, today i must say he seemed quite confident in court. he was at least sitting up straight. he wasn't hunched over. his hands buried in his head, as has been the case in the past few days and i think good reason in a way. his family and himself to be confident because as you mentioned, his defense team really punching holes in the state's evidence. in a way discrediting them, even weakening their evidence. so does that change the ball game? will the magistrate soften his views? will he give him bail? he'll appear tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. local time as that decision is made. >> robyn curnow from south africa. we want to bring in call callan, good morning, paul. >> good morning. >> the story k

of thousands of tourists come to the city because of this game. cnn's rachel nichols joins us now. rachel, you were at that game. black eye for new orleans? >> reporter: it's interesting you talk about the breaker. it's kind of what happens in your basement, you go flip up the breaker and put it back in. the abnormality you referred to is about the power feed that comes into the stadium. it registered an abnormality in the amount of power coming in here, flipped open the breaker as sort of an auto shutoff to compensate. officials had to go in and reflick it back and get all the lights around the stadium up. you showed john harbaugh, the ravens coach, looking so heated. here's the inside scoop on why a ravens official told me it wasn't about the power being off and getting the game started. it was when they wanted to restart the game. on the 49ers sideline, their head set, their coaches head sets weren't working. so the officials asked the ravens to turn their headsets off as well to make it a fair advantage. the ravens have a coach up in the box. the 49ers coaches were down on the field. so jo
